The Portfolio Overview dashboard is the primary home page of Portfolio. This dashboard displays a number of "widgets" that each display specific information about your portfolio.
- Total Projects: Explains the total number of projects included in the dashboard. This will change when you use filters to only display the filtered projects.
- Projects with forecasted delay: This is the number of projects with delay forecast against the scheduled end date and nPlan’s forecasted end date. This will also change (and the %) to be out of the projects included in the dashboard and will also change based on filters.
- Portfolio Health Score: This is the “health” of the portfolio based on the customised health score configured in settings. This is a weighted score using selected KPIs out of 1000. The health score is “Green” if it is 500 or above, “Amber” if it is between 250 - 500 and “Red” if the score is below 250.
- Project Health Breakdown: This displays the breakdown of projects in each health score category (red, amber, green). To see which projects have which health score, click the red box, amber box or green box which will take you to the list of relevant projects and KPIs.
- Forecast Delay Overview: This maps your projects against % project progress and forecasted delay in days. This will help you see which projects are at an earlier stage. % project complete is percent of tasks completed over total tasks in a schedule. Each circle is a single project. You can click on any of the project circles to be taken to the project page with more detailed project information. If you have selected specific categories to see in the “Extra Filters” section, each project will be colour coded to labels.
- Workload: Workload displays the number of scheduled versus forecasted activities in a month. This will help you understand how much activity you have planned in a given time period versus forecast. Move the slider underneath the months to expand the visualised time period and move the bar to show dates in the future.
- Portfolio KPI Breakdown: This will show the breakdown of what is contributing to a portfolio KPI. This will default on projects to show the top 4 projects but if you select a category, this will show the breakdown by the category. Use the KPI drop down to change the displayed KPI.
- Portfolio Delay Breakdown: See up to 10 top grouped issues across your portfolio. Each issue description is in the clickable drop down under the issue name. Also see the number of projects associated with each issue and the “impact” from each issue. The impact is the most often impact level from “very low, low, medium, high, very high” in the underlying issues by project.
- My Portfolio: This shows you the start, schedule end date, and forecasted end date by project. Planned outline is the open line and the forecast end date is the blue bar. You can click the “Planned” or “Forecast” buttons at the top to hide or show scheduled end dates or forecast end dates for each project. The P-value drop down will let you choose between P-50, P-80, or P-90 confidence intervals for which confidence level you want to see the forecast. The arrows on the right hand side let you sort the projects by different ascending and descending options.
- Portfolio - Project List: This is a list of projects, last updated project schedule, planned end, progress to date (number of tasks out of total tasks), health score, KPIs (which were selected in the settings option and can be added/taken away via settings), and project labels (also configured in the settings option.) You can click on any project name to be taken to the Project Page.
